Queen Charlotte
Queen Charlotte was a relatively early arrival to New Zealand waters, arriving at the Bay of Islands in January of 1816 under the command of Captain Powell. She was back in December on her way to Tahiti, at which time Captain Powell delivered goods to the mission station from Sydney. It wasn’t until 1822 that Queen Charlotte was again back at the Bay of Islands, this time under Captain Henry, but again enroute to Tahiti. Her departure was initially only very short, when bad weather forced her back to the Bay, but she finally was able to get underway a few days later.
In August 1823 Captain Henry was back at the Bay of Islands on Queen Charlotte, but after that her captaincy was transferred to R. Jameson, who sailed her to the Auckland Islands where her crew procured 2200 seal skins and 2 tons of oil. In April 1831Queen Charlotte was reported as arriving at Sydney with another cargo of seal skins and flax.
